The Hopewell Vikings Coach Pitch/Team Vukovcan took on a very talented Central Valley squad at the Kane Road Complex.

The Vikings boys battled hard for 6 innings but in the end came up short against CV.

At this stage and age, it isn’t about winning and losing, instead it’s 100% about the kids doing things during the games to give them confidence and getting better. The measure of a successful season won’t be based on wins but if each individual kid improved from the start of the season till the end.

Last night, Hopewell had a number of positive things to pull from the game.

For example:
*1st inning, 2nd baseman Hayes Singletary made two defensive plays at 2nd base to get outs.

*4th inning, Jonah Honess TURNED A TRIPLE PLAY!! Jonah was playing center field and with 2 runners, he caught a fly ball. As the ball was hit, both CV runners were moving, Honess was able to run in to the infield and tag both runners to record the rarely seen triple play! Great job Jonah.

*Offensively, Grayden McNally was moved to the leadoff spot and Grayden responded with a 3-hit game, including 2 doubles. Great job G-Dog!

*Other Viking players with hits included: Bryce Bell with 2 singles, Brody Tournay with 2 singles and an RBI, Jonah Honess with 3 hits (including a triple), Will Vukovcan with 2 singles.

Hopewell Coaches Pitch Team Vukovcan will return to the field next Monday as they travel to Ambridge.
