Hopewell 12U All-Stars Showcase Depth and Firepower in Impressive First Week!
The Hopewell 12U All-Stars put together an outstanding week of baseball, winning four of five games in their first scrimmage and tournament that highlighted their explosive offense, dominant pitching, and relentless hustle on the base paths. With standout performances across the board, Hopewell proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
⚾ Strong Start: Hopewell Tops Ambridge 12-8
The scrimmage kicked off with a statement win over Ambridge on Wednesday. Rilynn Davis wasted no time putting Hopewell on the board with a solo shot to center in the first inning, setting the tone for a high-powered offensive display. This would be Rilynn’s first home run to clear the fence in her career and definitely not the last! Hopewell exploded for seven runs in the second inning, with a key 2-RBI double from Kruz Krotec leading the way.

Pitching was a team effort, as five different Hopewell arms threw shutout innings in relief. Offensively, Rilynn and Kruz each had two hits and two RBIs, while the team racked up six walks and 12 stolen bases. Connor Eiler showed great plate discipline, drawing two walks, and the defense turned a double play to seal the deal.
💥 Saturday Torunament Sweep: Dominant Wins Over Mars and Stingers
Hopewell lit up the scoreboard in back-to-back games on Saturday.
Game 1: Hopewell 13, Mars 6
Rhett Rankin launched a 2-run homer in the second, and Elliott Mancos followed with a 2-RBI single. Hopewell poured it on with a 6-run third inning, fueled by hits from Kruz, Henry Dunn., and Wes Gigliotti. Henry added a solo home run in the fifth for good measure.

Wade Enders and Kruz Krotec combined for four strong innings on the mound, with Kruz tossing two shutout frames. Henry, Wes, Kruz, and Rhett all tallied two hits, and Hopewell showed their confidence on the bases with 14 stolen bags in the game.
Game 2:
Hopewell 14, Stingers 1
The bats stayed hot in game two as Hopewell jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back. Rilynn Davis tripled, Wade Enders and Rhett Rankin each added RBI singles, and the team piled on across three innings. Kruz knocked in three runs, while Wade led the team with a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Rilynn dazzled on the mound with two no-hit innings and three strikeouts, and Wes Gigliotti closed things out with a clean inning of relief. The offense collected 14 hits, and the team swiped another six bases. Kruz led the way on the base paths with four steals.

💪 Sunday Shutout: Hopewell Edges Mars 1-0 in Pitcher’s Duel
In a game that showcased the team’s defensive composure, Hopewell outlasted Mars Gold in a 1-0 thriller. Connor Eiler drove in the lone run of the game in the third, while Wade Enders and Kruz Krotec combined for six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out four.

Hopewell was flawless in the field, committing zero errors, with Brandon Cecchini leading the defense with five plays. Wade also went 2-for-2 at the plate in the tightly contested win.
📉 Tough Finish: Hopewell Falls to B-Town 9-5
Despite a strong start, Hopewell dropped their final game of the weekend to B-Town on Monday. Henry Dunn got the scoring started in the first, and the team briefly regained the lead in the fourth before B-Town rallied with a 6-run inning.
Rhett Rankin gave a solid effort on the mound, striking out four across three innings. Hopewell stayed aggressive offensively with 11 stolen bases and hits from six different players, including Rilynn, Wade, and Connor, who also each drove in a run. The team also turned another double play defensively.

🏆 Full Week Recap: Team Effort, Big Results
Hopewell finished the week with a 4-1 record, outscoring opponents 45 – 24. Their pitching staff allowed just one run in two of their four wins, and the offense averaged over 10 runs per game in victories. The team combined for an astounding 43 stolen bases and played clean, fundamentally sound baseball in the field.
As they gear up for their next matchup against Mix Team Beaver County on Tuesday, Hopewell 12U All-Stars have proven they have the talent, chemistry, and heart to compete with anyone.
