Hopewell 25 Pony Holds Off Beaver in 13-11 Battle
It was a true fall baseball showdown Thursday night as Hopewell 25 Pony earned a 13-11 win over Beaver Pony – Eimiller. Hopewell built a 5-run cushion in the third inning and leaned on strong pitching, solid defense, and timely hitting to secure the victory.
Mason Santamaria set the tone right away for Hopewell, taking the mound to start the game. Santamaria was lights out, tossing two shutout innings without giving up a hit. He struck out three, walked two, and faced just seven batters while throwing 27 pitches. His command and poise on the mound gave Hopewell the early confidence they needed. Mason also came through at the plate, collecting multiple hits and swiping bases to help spark the Hopewell offense.

Anthony Ventresca followed later in relief and delivered on both sides of the game as well. Ventresca struck out several Beaver batters to keep Hopewell in control during the middle innings. At the plate, Anthony came through with key hits, helping drive in runs that padded Hopewell’s lead.

Hopewell’s offense was firing on all cylinders, totaling 14 hits in the contest. Domenico Yannessa led the way with three hits, including a double, while Grant Olsen and Connor Eiler chipped in multiple knocks of their own. Catcher Ty Shannon added power with three RBIs, going 2-for-4. On the bases, Hopewell showed off their speed, racking up 10 stolen bags, with Mason, Domenico, David Johnson, and Ty each swiping more than one.
Though Beaver made a late charge with runs in the third and sixth innings, Hopewell’s mix of strong pitching and defensive support held them off. In all, four different Hopewell pitchers — Santamaria, Ventresca, Olsen, and Johnson — combined for 13 strikeouts in the win.
Hopewell now looks to carry the momentum into their next matchup on Tuesday against BF 25 Fall Pony.
