💙🥎 Navy Battles Back For Huge 11-7 Victory Over Bridgers 🔥🚀

Hopewell 12U Navy continued building early-season momentum Tuesday night, battling back multiple times before exploding late for an exciting 11-7 victory over Bridgers 12U Grey. 💪🥎

The win moves Hopewell to 2-1 overall on the season, while the Navy squad also remains a perfect 2-0 in seeding games, putting themselves in strong position for future playoff contention. 🌟

In a game filled with momentum swings, clutch hitting, aggressive baserunning, and big strikeout pitching, Hopewell showed the toughness and resilience that championship-caliber teams develop early in the year.

The biggest star of the night was unquestionably Madison Santamaria, who delivered one of the most explosive performances of the season so far. Santamaria drove in four runs on three hits, finishing with a monster stat line that included a towering three-run home run in the sixth inning and a clutch RBI triple earlier in the game. She piled up an incredible 8 total bases and completely changed the game with her bat. 💣🔥

Hopewell jumped on the board immediately in the top of the first inning when Kaylin Michael worked a bases-loaded walk to force home a run before Sofia Cronin ripped a two-run single to give Navy an early 3-0 advantage. ⚡🥎

Bridgers battled back quickly, tying the game in the bottom half of the inning and later taking a 4-3 lead in the third after capitalizing on an error.

But Hopewell answered once again.

In the fourth inning, Santamaria crushed a triple that plated a run before Kaylin Michael came through with  a huge hit, delivering an RBI single to put Hopewell back on top. 💥

The game continued to swing back and forth as Bridgers reclaimed a 7-6 lead heading into the sixth inning. With Hopewell down to its final outs, the Navy lineup refused to quit — and the determination shown in those final at-bats became the defining moment of the game. 💙

Erin Points stepped into the batter’s box and battled through a tough at-bat, staying alive deep into the count before reaching first base on a dropped third strike. Moments later, Jaina Zito did the exact same thing, grinding through another gritty plate appearance and reaching safely on another dropped third strike. 👏🔥

Those at-bats may not show up as huge hits in the box score, but they completely changed the game. Instead of the inning ending, Hopewell kept fighting, proving exactly what sports are all about — never giving up, competing through adversity, and continuing to battle no matter the situation. 💪🥎

Aggressive baserunning by Points helped Hopewell tie the game and swing the momentum back toward the Navy dugout. That rally pushed Hopewell back to the top of the order where Tayla Schwartzmiller worked a huge walk to put another runner aboard. Then Aubrey Majors delivered a clutch single that drove in the go-ahead run and gave Hopewell its first lead of the inning. ⚡🚀

That sequence set the stage for the unforgettable moment.

With runners on base and momentum fully on Hopewell’s side, Santamaria stepped to the plate and crushed a three-run homer to left field that sent the dugout into celebration mode and blew the game wide open. 💣💥

Hopewell collected nine hits overall and received contributions all throughout the lineup:

  • Madison Santamaria: 3 hits, HR, triple, 4 RBI, 8 total bases 💣
  • Aubrey Majors: 3-hit performance and clutch go-ahead RBI single 🔥
  • Kaylin Michael: key RBI production and patient at-bats ⚡
  • Sofia Cronin: huge early 2-RBI single 🥎
  • Erin Points and Jaina Zito: gritty late-game at-bats that sparked the comeback 💙
  • Meier Swana and Jaina Zito: aggressive baserunning that kept pressure on Bridgers all game long 🏃‍♀️💨

Hopewell’s speed was a major factor throughout the game, with the team swiping eight stolen bases and constantly creating chaos on the basepaths.

Defensively, Hopewell also flashed leather by turning a double play to stop momentum during a tight stretch of the game, Tayla owned her position on the mound completing the double play to first baseman Sofia Cronin. 👏

Inside the circle, Hopewell received another strong combined pitching effort. Meier Swana started the game and struck out six batters over three innings of work. Tayla Schwartzmiller came on in relief and helped close things out with five more strikeouts as the duo combined for 11 Ks in the victory. Tayla had an outstanding game coming in to the final inning and striking out three batters to seal the victory for Hopewell. 🎯🥎

Head coach Rachel Santamaria’s team continues to show tremendous balance early in the spring season — combining power hitting, speed, defensive hustle, and strong pitching depth into a dangerous combination.

Hopewell Navy now looks ahead to Thursday’s home matchup against Beaver Falls as they attempt to keep their momentum rolling. 💙🥎
