The game featured an outstanding battle in the circle from both teams. Hopewell’s pitching duo of Kendal Kaminski and Julie β€œGracey” Dunning combined to limit Bridgers to just one run while piling up an impressive 12 strikeouts.

The breakthrough came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Navy offense erupted for three runs. Gracey Dunning started the rally with an RBI double, Ann Krawczynski followed with an RBI single, and Eva Brunton added another run-scoring hit to give Hopewell a 3-1 lead they would never surrender.
