🔥 Redemption Complete: Hopewell Storms Back to Stun Moon in Instant Classic 🔥
Earlier this season, Hopewell and Moon delivered a back-and-forth battle that could have gone either way—but it was Moon who escaped with a narrow 11-10 win. Despite Hopewell racking up 13 hits and getting a huge performance from Rilynn Davis, who tallied three extra-base hits, the Vikings couldn’t quite close the door. The game was a constant tug-of-war, with multiple lead changes and both teams capitalizing on scoring opportunities. In the end, a mix of timely Moon hitting, patient at-bats, and a few costly Hopewell errors allowed Moon to edge ahead late and hold on. It was the kind of loss that sticks with a team—not because they were outplayed, but because they were that close.
Fast forward to the rematch—and this time, Hopewell made sure the story ended differently.
In a high-octane showdown at Moon, the Vikings came out swinging and never stopped. Fueled by relentless energy at the plate and a refusal to back down, Hopewell erupted for 17 hits in a thrilling 16-15 comeback victory, flipping the script in dramatic fashion.
After falling behind 9-3 early and later trailing 14-12 heading into the final inning, Hopewell could have folded. Instead, they delivered their most electric stretch of the season.
With everything on the line, Alyssa Phillips ignited the comeback, ripping a clutch triple that drove in Adelynn Gray. Moments later, heads-up baserunning turned chaos into opportunity as Phillips stole home on a passed ball, tying the game and completely shifting momentum.

But the Vikings weren’t done.
Madison Santamaria, Tayla Schwartzmiller, and Sofia Cronin showed incredible discipline at the plate, drawing walks to load the bases and keep the pressure on. In the blink of an eye, passed balls allowed Madison and Tayla to cross the plate, giving Hopewell a stunning 16-14 lead.

From there, the pitching duo of Tayla Schwartzmiller and Alyssa Phillips held firm. Tayla battled early in the circle, keeping the game within reach despite Moon’s explosive start, while Alyssa came in and delivered a gutsy, composed performance—striking out eight and shutting the door just enough to secure the win.

This wasn’t just a victory—it was a statement.
Every part of Hopewell’s lineup contributed to the offensive explosion. Phillips led the charge with a perfect 5-for-5 performance, while Brooke Otto, Adelynn Gray, and Sam Holsinger all delivered multiple hits. The Vikings combined patience and power, applying constant pressure that Moon ultimately couldn’t withstand.

Brooke Otto was a force all game long, going 4-for-5 with an RBI and consistently setting the table.
Sam Holsinger matched that energy with 3 hits, including two doubles, driving in 2 runs and providing clutch production throughout.
Adelynn Gray added 2 hits and 3 runs scored, creating chaos on the bases with her speed and aggressive approach.
In key moments late, discipline at the plate became just as important as power hitting.
Madison Santamaria reached base multiple times, scoring 2 runs and adding 2 RBIs, including a critical sacrifice fly—then came around to score during the seventh inning surge.
Sofia Cronin showcased patience and toughness, drawing 3 walks and scoring 2 runs, constantly applying pressure to Moon’s defense and supplying a deep shot to right center field.
Lacy Soltis chipped in with a hit and 2 RBIs, delivering when runners were in scoring position. Also adding an inning momentum shift by snagging a deep fly ball to left preventing Moon from adding more runs to the board. Tayla Schwartzmiller worked key at-bats and scored a run, later crossing the plate during the sequence that gave Hopewell the lead.
Eden Shanahan made the most of her opportunity, scoring a run and contributing to the offensive flow.
Summer Shreve added depth and battled through her at-bats to keep innings alive moving runners over doing her part.
From a one-run heartbreak to a one-run triumph, Hopewell didn’t just win—they grew, responded, and proved they can finish what they start.
This is what resilience looks like as a team shows what it means to work together and get better throughout the season.
