Hopewell Volleyball Opens Home Schedule Monday Night Against Blackhawk
Hopewell, PA — The Hopewell High School Lady Vikings are ready to officially open their home schedule Monday night, August 31, when they welcome Blackhawk High School to the Hopewell gymnasium.
The JV team will take the court at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Varsity matchup at 7:30 p.m.
While the Vikings have already been busy preparing for the season, their games leading up to Monday night have been scrimmages, making tomorrow’s matchup against Blackhawk the team’s official home opener.
Preparing for an Exciting Season
The Lady Vikings have been putting in the work well before the start of the regular season.
Throughout the summer, the team held practices twice a week before transitioning to daily practices at the beginning of August in preparation for what the team expects to be an exciting and competitive season.
The Varsity squad also attended a three-day volleyball camp in Indiana, Pennsylvania, giving the players an opportunity to sharpen their skills, build chemistry and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Over the past several weeks, Hopewell has continued its preparation by scrimmaging against local teams, giving the Vikings valuable opportunities to compete against live competition before the games began to count.
Strong Competition at Butler Spikefest
The Vikings also got an early taste of tournament competition this past Saturday when they traveled to the Butler Spikefest Tournament.
The all-day event featured some of the best teams in the area, providing Hopewell with a challenging day of volleyball and an opportunity to see where the team stands heading into the regular season.
Despite the stiff competition, the Vikings held their own and came away with plenty of experience as they continue to develop as a team.

These four seniors will provide leadership and experience as Hopewell takes on a full schedule of competition throughout the fall.
