The Hopewell Girls Junior High Soccer team continues to put together a strong season, earning a hard-fought 1-0 victory over CV Thursday afternoon!
After recently defeating Beaver 3-1, with Amzey Budris and Kendall Bain connecting on multiple scoring opportunities, the duo was once again involved in the Vikings’ latest victory.
This time, Budris found the back of the net, with Bain providing the assist for the game’s only goal. ⚽🥅
While the goal provided the difference, Hopewell’s defense played a huge role in securing the shutout. The Vikings battled throughout the match and made it difficult for CV to create scoring opportunities.
Behind that strong defensive effort was goalie Cora Quinn, who had an outstanding performance in the net to help preserve the 1-0 lead. 🧤⚽
The victory was also a great response to an earlier meeting between the two teams this season, when Hopewell fell to CV 3-1. This time, the Vikings flipped the result with a strong defensive performance and a shutout win. 💪⚽
The victory moves Hopewell to an impressive 5-2 record on the season! 📈💙💛
