Hopewell Coaches Pitch Turn in Best Performance of Season

HOPEWELL TWP- For the second straight game, Hopewell’s Team Vukovcan (Coaches Pitch) turned in another strong performance, probably their best of the season, as they beat Ambridge, 14-5 (5 innings).

Not only did the Vikings hit but they also played impressive defense, recording 7 outs in the field. Kellen Haring, Grayden McNally, Brody Tournay and Will Vukovcan had strong games in the field.

At the plate, 7 of the 10 Viking batters had 3 hit games (Cullen Harcum, Kellen Haring, Brody Tournay, Grayden McNally, Christopher Spiropoulos, Trent Michael and Micah Zughaib). Will Vukovcan had 2 hits and Dom Santamaria had one hit.

RBI getters for Hopewell were Tournay (4), McNally (3), Harcum (2), Michael (2), Zughaib (2), Spiropoulos (1) and Vukovcan (1).

Congrats to Cullen Harcum for hitting an inside the park home run!!

As the head coach, I’m very proud and very much enjoy coaching this group of kids. They listen, always give effort, 100% team players and do whatever is asked of them.  Credit to their parents for that.
