Two Hopewell 3rd Graders Make it to Championship Game in AAU Basketball Tournament
Hopewell Sports Nation wanted to give a shout out to a couple of young basketball from Hopewell that had a successful weekend on the basketball court.
“The County” a 3rd grade AAU team from the Beaver County Basketball club took part in a Drill for Skill Tournament in Salem, Ohio.
Part of this BCBC team are two kids from Hopewell 3rd graders, Cooper Biller and Landyn Dellicarpini and they are coached by Hopewell’s Craig Biller. Other members of “The County” consisted of kids from Beaver, Blackhawk, Baden Academy, Mohawk and Ohio.
“The County started things off by going 1-1 and on Saturday.
Today in elimination play, Coach Biller’s team won their first two games today, putting them in the championship game, where they lost 31-28.
This team has been competing since April and today was their last tournament. In their first tournament, they won the championship and finished in second place last weekend in Erie, Pa. This is very impressive considering this is their first year competing in AAU Basketball.
Congrats to everyone involved on a great season and all the hard work that you’ve put in.
With all the boys and girls competing in summer basketball leagues, the future is certainly bright for the future of Hopewell basketball!
