It was a great season ending performance by both the Hopewell 7th and 8th grade basketball teams as they both finished the 2023 season with wins over Beaver.

The Vikings 7th grade team were victorious by the score of 37-18, while the 8th graders won 35-10.

The afternoon started off well as the Hopewell community showed tremendous support as the girls were able to play in front of a packed crowd at the junior high. Great job Hopewell families!

In the 7th grade game, with game tied at 6, the Hopewell girls went on a 12-2 run to pull away and Beaver could never recover. Hopewell led 20-12 at halftime. Lily Enders led the way in scoring for Hopewell with 18 points, followed by Calasia Cannon with 7, Lily Otto and Abby Babinsack both with 6.

The 8th graders finished their junior high careers with another dominating performance. Following today’s win, Hopewell finished the season with a record of 13-4 and were playing their best basketball at the end of the season.

How about this for a stat, in the 1st quarter Hopewell led 5-4 and then finished the game on a 30 to 6 run.

Here’s a recap of this afternoon’s game:

FINAL SCORE:  Hopewell 35-10.

Another strong year from a Hopewell junior high sports program, first the football team winning a conference championship and now a strong year from the girls’ basketball team. Next up: the boy’s junior high basketball team, which will be really, really good.

The future of Hopewell sports certainly looks bright!

We hope you enjoyed our coverage of the girl’s junior high basketball team on HSN. We plan to cover the boys the same way, along with the Hopewell High School boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams.
