This was a big win in a couple of different ways: 1) winning on the road is always challenging. 2) Avonworth is an established programs that is very successful. Nice job ladies!

A big reason for not only today’s win but really all season is the quality depth on this roster. It feels as though every game different players step up to contribute to the win, it’s never just one player dominating.

As the final score would indicate, this was a tight game throughout.

This game was tied 14-all at halftime and after Avonworth jumped out to a 17-14 3rd quarter lead, the Lady Vikings went on a 9-0 and they never trailed the rest of the way.

Taking a look at the box score, the Shell sisters (Arionna and Amiyah) led the way with 9 points each. Elianna McCoy then followed with 8 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, Brooke Otto contributed 3 points, while Leah Buettner scored 2 points.

Hopewell gets no rest as they’re back in action tomorrow afternoon with a road contest at Fort Cherry. Your chance to check them out in person is this Thursday as they’ll host Central Valley. Tipoff from the Hopewell Junior High School will take place at 3:30 PM.
