Hopewell 7U All Stars Show Heart and Growth Over the Weekend Tournament in Riverside
The Hopewell 7U All Stars hit the field this weekend ready to compete, bringing with them the energy and determination that only comes from hours of practice and scrimmages. While the scoreboard didn’t reflect the results they were hoping for, the weekend was a clear win when it came to growth and development.
These young athletes showed tremendous effort, learned valuable lessons, and continued building the foundation for a bright future in the game.
Bats were swinging, gloves were ready, and every player showed heart. Here’s what each of our All Stars brought to the diamond:
🔹 Ahmad Gates (#00) – An absolute force at the plate, hitting an impressive .714. Gates consistently delivered with confidence and power. On defense, he was perfect with 4 putouts and a 1.000 fielding percentage, making him a two-way standout.
🔹 Hayes Singletary (#99) – With a .700 batting average over 10 at-bats, Singletary was a consistent leader at the plate. Defensively, he handled 6 total chances, including 4 assists, with a 1.000 fielding percentage. A true spark plug in every aspect of the game.
🔹 Dominic Santamaria (#26) – At the plate, he hit .571 and brought clutch energy with every swing. On defense, he went 4-for-4 in his chances, locking in a 1.000 fielding percentage. A complete player who made an impact all around.
🔹 Mitchell Hodnicki (#88) – Batted .571, showing solid plate discipline and consistent contact.
🔹 Brady Daley (#37) – A dependable bat with a .500 average and a defensive leader with 9 total chances, 7 putouts, and 2 assists, all without an error. His glove was key to the defense’s success.
🔹 Cohen Biller (#2) – Made his single game count, hitting .500. Biller brought great energy and readiness. His presence was a valued part of the team’s spirit.
🔹 Levi Magnone (#72) – Batted .500, putting pressure on defenses with every at-bat. He also handled 6 fielding chances with 5 putouts and no errors, maintaining a 1.000 fielding percentage. Calm, focused, and effective.
🔹 Tanner Kessler (#11) – Delivered with a .429 batting average, coming up big when it counted. He was one of the most reliable fielders with 11 total chances, 10 putouts, and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
🔹 Enzo Markowitz (#77) – Posted a .429 average and showed he’s a hitter to be reckoned with. In the field, he went 2-for-2 earning a 1.000 fielding percentage.
🔹 Blake Kosta (#98) – Hit .286 and showed a solid approach at the plate. Defensively, he was perfect with 2 clean putouts, showing focus and strong positioning.
🔹 Kellen Haring (#13) – Hit .286 and hustled every time up. In the field, he had 2 total chances and made both, earning a 1.000 fielding percentage. Always dependable.
🔹 M.J. Shegog (#10) – Brought effort at the plate and continues to grow offensively. In the field, he was flawless with 4 putouts and a 1.000 fielding percentage, showing composure and skill.
🔹 Tony Matthews (#15) – Though he hit .111, Matthews gave his all at the plate and showed a great attitude. In the field, he handled 5 chances, recording 3 putouts, showing hustle and strong effort.
This team is putting it all together—offense, defense, and teamwork. With a team fielding percentage of .982, and several players hitting over .500, the future is bright. They’ll be back in action at their home tournament July 11th at Kane Road, and we’re ready to cheer them on! We can’t wait to see what they bring to the diamond!
