Preview of Huge Volleyball Match Tonight as No. 2 Hopewell Hosts OLSH
Believe it or not, we’re less than a month away from the end of the high school girls volleyball season.
Hopewell head coach Terry Borkovic and the Lady Vikings have eight matches left and all of them are important as they look to close the season strong and challenge for a section championship.
Tonight, a very important match takes place at Hopewell High School between Hopewell and OLSH.
What’s the importance of the match? Both teams are tied with one section loss and the winner takes over 2nd place!
The WPIAL volleyball rankings were released yesterday, and Quaker Valley is the No. 1 ranked team and are followed by Hopewell, which is No. 2!!
The Lady Vikings won’t have any time to rest as tomorrow, they’ll be on the road to take on Quaker Valley.
These two programs met back on September 4th, with Quaker Valley winning the match in 4 sets (25-19, 27-25, 23-25 and 25-11).
Not to look ahead but if Hopewell is able to win these next two matches, they would be tied for first place with Quaker Valley. However, first thing is first and that’s tonight’s matchup against a very good OLSH team.
“We have a few starters playing through some nagging injuries. The girls will have to play their best volleyball to finish this week undefeated,” says Coach Borkovic.
Hopewell Sports Nation will be at tonight’s match and have a complete match recap.
Go Vikings!!
