Aubrey Bogacki Inspiration- Update and Tournament Info!
Update- Aubrey is doing well out of the hospital and walking around since our first post below about her life changing accident that claimed the lives of her father, sister and brother.
This weekend the National USA Softball of PA, District 9 hosted a massive tournament to raise money for the Bogacki family. Over 60 softball teams from near and far joined the tournament this weekend and on Saturday Aubrey was present at the tournament to cheer on her team from Silver Creek.
Multiple news broadcasting stations have joined in the effort to promote the story and event including Rich Pierce from WPXI.
Through sports our children build many skills and friendships. It’s always great to watch your children grow and become young adults while cultivating friendships with teammates and their families. Those friendships can be a source of strength for the kids and families as well, and there is never a hesitation when someone on a team experiences a life changing moment that requires community support. The Bogacki family has just experienced one of those life changing moments that we never want to have to hear about and they can use your support now.
Aubrey Bogacki is a 10 year old girl from Beaver County who was in a horrific car accident on July 20th. She lost her father, her seventeen year old sister, Emma and her thirteen year old brother, Grant in the accident. Immediately the community was behind Aubrey and her family supporting where they could while giving them some time to work through this difficult accident. Softball Teams from all over western PA dedicated their games this past week to Aubrey and her family as they played all over the country including the Virginia Beach World Series. Aubrey who has been nothing short of a miracle has a difficult journey ahead of her both physically and emotionally as she survived the crash and is making miraculous progress in her physical recovery.
Aubrey and her family are from the western beaver area and plays for a local travel softball team, Steel City Athletics. Her sister, Emma played for the Silver Creek travel softball organization, and started her travel ball career with Valley Rage. She would have been a senior at Lincoln Park High School and also would have played Varsity Softball for Western Beaver this school year.
The softball and social media community has come together with an overwhelming amount of support for Aubrey and her family. Â There has been a GoFundMe set up on behalf of the Bogacki Family that has surpassed its original goal but still needs your support at the link below. If you are part of a local softball team either rec or travel you can help by joining a fundraising tournament on behalf of the Bogcki family. The tournament details are below as well.
