Hopewell Softball
HW Varsity Softball Game 2 Highlights: Pigeon Forge Tennessee
The momentum of the Lady Vikings first game win in Pigeon Forge wasn’t enough to carry them to a win in their second game against New Richmond, as Hopewell falls 10-4 to the Ohio team.
New Richmond’s bats were came out swinging in the first inning. The first run came in off a tag up and an error committed by Hopewell. The runs continued as they scored six more in the second with HW committing another error.
HW had a tough game defensively committing 8 errors which is an unusual performance for this team, only 2 out of 10 runs were earned. They will need to refocus their efforts today.
Allison Ramaley pitched five and two thirds innings in relief. Ramaley surrendered five hits and three runs (zero earned) with no strikeouts and no walks.
Some high points of the game, offensively, Kara Barkovich lead off the game with a double and both Ava Compton and Tori Mann came up with multiple hits during the game. Kara’s performance in the last two games shows promise for the future of this season.
The team is still hopeful of coming back tomorrow and making the adjustments necessary to earn their second W.
All eyes are on you Lady Vikes, everyone back in Hopewell is rooting for you!
