Hopewell Softball
HW JV Softball Dominate in TN!!!
In a day where we already saw a big win from our Hopewell Varsity Softball team, the JV team added a W to their win column. The HW JV team put up an impressive performance against the Paintsville JV Tigers this afternoon winning 13-3.
Hopewell came out in the first and third innings putting up 3 runs each for an early 6-0 lead against the Tigers. Than similarly to the Varsity team who beat their opponent this morning after just three innings the JV team closed this game out early after only four innings.
In the first inning HW JV with Mikaela David drawing a walk and scoring a run, another run via a passed ball. In the third three more runs were added via passed balls by Kamryn Roche and Parish.
In the fourth inning the JV squad put up an impressive 7 runs! Productivity of the seven runs was a team effort but some notable mentions were Lily Statler, Annabeth Sembower with multiple RBI’s. Lily Statler grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Lily Parish drew a walk, scoring one run, Annabeth Sembower singled, scoring two runs, Dakota Roche drew a walk, scoring one run, and Statler singled, scoring one run.
Sembower was given the ball and earned the Win for Hopewell. The starter allowed zero hits and zero runs shutting out the Painstville Tigers, over three innings. Annabeth struck out seven batters and didn’t walk anyone in those three innings putting up an impressive performance for the Vikings.
Congrats to the Hopewell Junior Varsity Team and stay tuned for their next game tomorrow against Salem at 11:00am.
