Hopewell 5th Grade Girls Basketball Open Beaver County Youth Playoffs With Convincing Win Over Beaver
The Hopewell 5th Grade Girls Basketball team is playing their best basketball of the season at the right time!
Last weekend, the Vikings were champions of the Our Lady of Fatima Memorial Classic Tournament and continued their winning ways tonight.
In their opening round matchup of the Beaver County Youth Playoffs against Beaver, Coach Yurcina’s team dominated the Beaver Bobcats from the opening tip, enroute to a 42-4 win. Hopewell outscored Beaver, 26-0, to the start game before leading 26-2 at halftime.
A couple impressive team stats tonight as Hopewell shot 45% from the field (21 of 47) and they passed the ball extremely well, earning 10 assists on 21 made baskets.
Here was the individual scoring tonight for Hopewell, with Rilynn Davis and Neveah Pope each scoring 14 points.

The competition will increase for Hopewell as they’ll take on Beaver Falls tomorrow morning in the quarterfinals. Tipoff tomorrow is set for 10:30 AM from Penn-State Beaver. These two teams met two weeks ago with Beaver Falls making a late comeback to win 26-23.
