Hopewell 6th Grade Girls With Impressive Win Over Ellwood City
The winning continues for teams in the Hopewell basketball program.
On Saturday, the Hopewell 6th grade girls’ basketball team took down Ellwood City, 42-11, which evened their season record at 2-2.
Arionna Shell had a career-high 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals.
The Hopewell girls did a great job with their passing as they dished out 13 assists on their 21 made field goals. Both Afton Budris and Sam Holsinger had 4 assists each.
The Vikings defense was equally impressive as the team had 17 steals, with Arionna Shell and her twin sister, Amiyah combining for 9 steals.
The balance of Hopewell’s scoring came from Afton Budris (8 points), Amiyah Shell (6 points), Julia Becker (4 points), Leah Buettner (2 points) and Brooke Otto (2 points).
The Hopewell 6th grade girls return to the court on Tuesday as they travel to New Brighton.
