Hopewell HS Girls Basketball Drops Section Game to West Allegheny

Hopewell visited West Allegheny Thursday night and both teams’ offenses were as cold as the weather outside.

The Indians led 10-8 after the first quarter. West Allegheny had even scoring in the quarter while the Vikings Allison Ramaley and Caylee Sundy each scored four points. Hopewell outscored West Allegheny 7-4 in the second quarter to take a lead at halftime 15-14.

Unfortunately for Hopewell, cold shooting carried over to the third quarter being outscored 18-2. West Allegheny’s length provided problems for the Vikings all night long. Hopewell found some scoring in the 4th quarter. Maya Richburg scored 5 of her team high 11 points in the quarter. The Indians outscored the Vikings 16-13 in the quarter for a 48-30 victory.

The Vikings return home next week to play Ambridge on Monday and Beaver on Thursday. Both games start at 6:30 pm.
