WATCH: Hopewell Freshman RB Greg Gigliotti Scores First Varsity Touchdown
Despite the loss on Friday night against Keystone Oaks, an exciting play took place in the Hopewell varsity football game.
Hopewell Sports Nation would like to congratulate Hopewell freshman Greg Gigliotti for scoring his first, of what hopefully will be many, varsity touchdown.
Gigliotti made his first one a long one as he took it 69 yards to the endzone, for Hopewell’s lone touchdown.
Because he’s behind senior Jacob Brunton on the Vikings depth chart at running back, Gigliotti, who also plays defensive back, hasn’t seen a ton of playing time. However, during his Coaches Show on Monday evenings at Shulligan’s Bar & Grille, Hopewell head coach Matt Weiss has mentioned Gigliotti and praised him for his performance in practice.
With Brunton graduating after the season, next year he has a chance to share more of the backfield workload with sophomore running back Josh Brunton, younger brother of Jacob.
Once again, congrats Gigs.
