Hopewell Girls Varsity Volleyball Loses To CV in Tremendous Match

The Hopewell girls’ volleyball team played their hearts out last night but unfortunately, came up short to a very good Central Valley team. Hopewell started out going down 2 sets to none, but the girls fought their way back in the 3rd set and dominated. The girls ended up losing in the 4th set but every girl on the team gave 100% effort and tried their best. Some of the top performers tonight for Hopewell were junior OH Jordan Sirianni, junior MH Alyssa Spang, and sophomore OH Brianna Inderlist.

Set 1 25-18 Central Valley Wins

• Haley Hineman sets up Alyssa Spang for the kill 5-3 Warriors

• Jayden Martinez passes to Haley who sets up Brianna for a kill 8-5 Central Valley
• Brianna with another kill cuts the lead to 2, 10-8 Warriors
• A block for Makayla Kurta 13-11 Warriors
• Jordan with a kill 19-16 Warriors
• A kill for Brianna ties the match at 21-21

Set 3 25-14 Hopewell Wins 

• A beautiful dig for Jayden leads to a point for the Vikings, Hopewell is up 4-1
• Haley Hineman sets up Jordan Sirianni for a kill 6-5 Hopewell

• Kendall passes to her twin, Haley who sets up Alyssa for a kill 6-5 Central Valley 
• Makayla Kurta with the kill 12-8 Warriors 
• Haley with an ace, 13-11 Warriors 
• A kill for Jordan, VIkings are down 13-12
• Another kill for Jordan, 16-13 Warriors 
• A great dig by Kendall leads to a Vikings point, 16-14 Central Valley
• Yet another kill for Jordan puts Hopewell up 17-16
• A beautiful dig and hustle play by Haley leads to a point for the Vikings, the match is tied at 18-18

Tough loss for the girls, but with that effort nobody should be disappointed. The Vikings section record is now 2-1. The girls are next in action on Tuesday 9/19, and will play Freedom at home at 7pm in another section battle. Go support the Lady Vikings!
