RACCOON TOWNSHIP- For a couple of days, Hopewell Sports Nation asked fans to come out and support the Hopewell Pony League team in their quest to win a championship.

The goal was to make the championship game an event and an atmosphere in which it would be memorable for the players and coaches.

Mission accomplished and the turnout exceeded anyone’s expectations.

A huge thank you to the Hopewell community for showing up in a bigtime way to support this team. Behind home plate and the first base line was filled with people. We even had fans out behind the fences in right and left field.

It was very cool that Hopewell High School baseball coach Morgan Singletary was in attendance along with new Hopewell football coach Matt Mottes. There were also members of the Hopewell High School baseball team. That was very cool along with the huge presence of members of the Hopewell Youth Baseball league. Obviously one day, those players would love to be on that field playing in a championship game.

The support that the community showed was special and something that was noticed and appreciated by Coach Yurcina, Coach Davis and their team.

Thanks to our sponsors!

Along with the fan support, the Raccoon Twp Fire Department brought the truck out, we had pregame music, an announcer was on-hand to announce rosters prior to the game and to play music before and throughout the game. We also wanted to thank Annie Lee’s Food Truck for being on hand to have food and milk shakes available for this big crowd. Thank you, Annie Lee’s Food Truck for adding to the special night.
