HW throws no hitter against CV!
Two games kicked off back to back at the Central Valley Fields with Team Gigliotti and Team Lavia each slated against competitive CV teams.
Team Gigliotti came out on top 6-0. The pitching was lights out with Noah Honess, Rilynn Davis and Connor Reed throwing a no hitter and stuck out 8. With a solid defense backing up its pitchers in the field HW was firing on all cylinders.
HW tacked up nine hits on the night coming off the bats of Wesley Gigliotti (3-3) 1 RBI, Austin Gallagher (2-3), Connor Reed (1-3) 2 RBI, Noah Honess (2-3) 1 RBI, and Mason Santamaria (1-3) with an RBI. With just the one double on the night HW beat CV the old fashioned way with small ball finding holes in the CV defense and taking advantage on the bases with six stolen.
The next game is home vs Team Dunn which is sure to be an exciting matchup.
On the field right behind the 12u team, Team Lavia kids pitch took on CV as well. While the team did not come away victorious the coaches did a good job engaging all of the players and working on key development items.
There were some notable performances during this game as well including Declan who ripped a double over the RCF’s head that bounced to the fence, Mike Ambrose came in with 2 outs and K’d a batter on 4 pitches and made a great catch in LF, Patrick Riley pitched for the first time ever, Logan Giering caught a ball in RF and turned it into a double play and Lincoln Cumpston made some very good plays in the field.
This is a young team already doing well and showing promise for the future of HW baseball.
