Kessler 8U CP ‘HSN’ Tops Hopewell Bruster’s Berserkers 18–14 in High-Energy Matchup

It was a warm spring evening full of energy, excitement, and learning as Kessler 8U Coach Pitch ‘HSN’ defeated Hopewell CP Bruster’s Berserkers 18–14 on Monday at the Kane Road Conplex. While the score showed a win for Team Kessler, both teams walked away with something far more valuable—experience and development.

At ages 7 and 8, games like this are all about learning the fundamentals, getting comfortable on the field, and making sure every kid has a chance to grow. Coaches from both teams shaped their lineups to give players more opportunities—not just at the top of the batting order but throughout the lineup—making sure everyone got valuable at-bats and time in the field.

Kessler’s offense was in full swing, racking up 30 hits. Dominic S. had a big game, going 4-for-5 at the plate with four singles. Grayden McNally, Tanner Kessler, and Aurora Singletary also had four hits each. Blake Kosta hit a crucial double in the sixth inning that drove in two key runs to help seal the win.

Hopewell Brusters Berserkers kept things close throughout the game, putting up 27 hits of their own. Declan R. led the way with a 3-for-4 night and 5 RBIs. Kellen Hairing., Mason T., and Lennox B. each had four hits as well.

Both teams showed great effort in the field, the ability to record outs is improving every game as the season goes on. Malik Shegog led Kessler’s defense with 12 plays, while Emerson K. made 11 for Hopewell.

The game was fast-paced and fun from start to finish. But the focus was never just about the score. It was about teaching kids how to play the game the right way—running hard, cheering on teammates, and learning from every swing and catch.
