Showrank Shines at Plate and in the Field as Hopewell Defeats Moon Area 10-2

The Hopewell Varsity Vikings delivered a commanding 10-2 win over the Moon Area Varsity Tigers on Thursday, led by a standout two-way performance from center fielder Tallulah Showrank.

Showrank went 3-for-4 with a triple in the first inning and singles in the third and sixth. Her early offensive spark helped fuel a four-run first inning that set the tone for the game. But her impact didn’t stop there — Showrank also turned in a strong defensive showing in center field, tracking down fly balls and cutting off deep hits to hold Moon Area’s runners in check.

Tallulah was locked in on both sides of the ball. Her reads in the outfield and clutch hitting Hopewell a big edge over Moon.

The Vikings got rolling quickly with RBIs from Victoria Mann, Showrank, and Dakota Roche in the first. Mann added another RBI with a triple in the second, and Alana Covalt drove in two more with a double in the third.

Allison Ramaley pitched a solid performance, earning the win, going seven innings of six-hit ball, allowing two unearned runs while striking out three and walking none. Moon Area’s Abbie Warnagiris took the loss, surrendering five runs (one earned) over three innings.

Hopewell’s offense racked up 14 hits, led by three-hit games from Showrank and Mann. Covalt, Ramaley, and Marina Pinchotti each contributed multiple hits as well.

The Vikings return to action Friday at home against the Sewickley Academy Varsity Panthers.
