Hopewell 8U HSN Stuns With Walk-Off Thriller Against Southside 8U

The Hopewell 8U CP Kessler ‘HSN’ team pulled off an unforgettable walk-off victory Monday night, edging out Southside 8U Baseball 12-10 in a dramatic finish at the Kane Road Complex!

Tied 10-10 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Hayes Singletary stepped up and delivered the clutch moment of the game—a booming triple that brought in two runs and sealed the walk-off win for Hopewell. The dugout erupted as teammates stormed the field to celebrate the hard-fought comeback.

Both teams came out swinging in the high-scoring battle, with Hopewell racking up 23 hits and Southside 8U Baseball close behind with 21.

Southside 8U Baseball struck first, scoring two in the top of the first on a Maddox C triple and a Rocco D single. But Hopewell answered right back in the bottom half—Hayes Singletary doubled in two runs, and Malik S followed with a single to give Hopewell an early 3-2 lead.

The game went back and forth from there. Southside 8U Baseball regained the lead in the second, but Hopewell kept battling. In the fifth, with the score tight, Tanner Kessler’s RBI single and a fielder’s choice off the bat of Dominic Santamaria helped Hopewell jump ahead 11-9.

Offensively, Hayes led the charge with a monster day at the plate—going 4-for-4 with five RBIs and providing the game-winning swing. Grayden McNally Ahmad Gates, and Hayes each collected four hits, while Tanner Kessler, Blake Kosta, and Malik Shegog also had multi-hit performances. Defensively, Hopewell was flawless in the field, committing zero errors, with Sheamus Riley leading the way with five chances.

For Southside, Maddox and Rocco were a tough duo in the lineup, each driving in two runs. Warren C had a perfect 4-for-4 day to lead his team in hits.

This is the first win out of three games for this group and while the win is exciting we see improvement and development each and every game from all of the players. Every player contributed to today’s win either with a hit or defensive play. Grayden McNally had a spectacular double play at shortstop and Ahmad Gates caught a key fly all out at short stop as well. Rory Singletary made three key tag outs at second base at crucial points in the game to keep things close.

Next up, Hopewell 8U CP ‘HSN’ will take the field again on Thursday at BF Jumet Financial Farm, riding the momentum of an electrifying walk-off win.
