Sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t fully tell the story of the fight, heart, and determination a team puts on the field — and Thursday night was one of those games for Team Dunn Pack N Ship. Despite outhitting CV1 Pony 2026 by a 6-5 margin, Dunn Pack N Ship narrowly fell 4-3 in a hard-fought showdown in Aliquippa.
Led by gritty pitching performances, clutch hitting, and aggressive baserunning, this team showed exactly why they continue to grow stronger every time they take the field. 💪⚾️
Wade Enders got the start on the mound and helped spark the offense as well. Enders delivered an RBI single down the right field line during a huge third inning rally that helped Dunn Pack N Ship jump ahead early. He also battled through adversity on the mound while keeping the game within striking distance and added another hit to the board.
Mason Santamaria came in as relief and slammed the door with a dominant pitching performance. of the Santamaria tossed 3.2 innings while striking out an incredible EIGHT hitters and allowing just one unearned run. Every inning he seemed to gain more momentum, overpowering hitters and giving his team every opportunity to battle back late. 🔥⚾️
At the plate, the lineup produced contributions all throughout the order:
⚾️ Henry Dunn put together a huge offensive night, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and scoring a run.
⚾️ Colby Cunningham continued to shine offensively with a 2-for-3 performance that included an RBI. Cunningham also added a stolen base and consistently pressured the defense every time he stepped into the batter’s box.
⚾️ Elliott Mancos showed tremendous patience at the plate, drawing two walks while driving in a run and scoring once himself.
⚾️ Mason Santamaria helped his own cause with a hit while dominating in relief on the mound.
⚾️ Ryder Kostrick battled through tough at-bats, worked a walk, and crossed the plate for a run.
⚾️ Grant Olson added another patient plate appearance with a walk and continued handling duties behind the dish.
⚾️ Noah Honess battled to earn a walk and kept pressure on the defense with speed on the bases.
⚾️ Brandon Cecchini contributed another quality plate appearance by drawing a walk.
⚾️ Connor Eiler fought through multiple at-bats and also reached base after being hit by a pitch.
⚾️ David Johnson continued competing against tough pitching while battling through four plate appearances in center field action.
Defensively, Team Dunn Pack N Ship also turned a double play, showcasing strong communication and awareness in the field. 🧤✨
Although the result didn’t fall their way, the effort, resilience, and energy from this group stood out from start to finish. With performances like Santamaria’s electric relief outing and key offensive contributions throughout the lineup, this team continues proving they can compete with anybody. They just made a play or two more than we did. I think this team is going to keep getting better. It’s early in the season.
