HSN Checks in with Head Coach Chris Nee and Morgan Singletary after Unified Bocce played Victorious!
The Unified Bocce Team was victorious over the Beaver this past Wednesday 3 to 1. Our Gold team consisting of Kaitlin Moskes, Eillen Chen, Danica Hiltz, Addi Davis, Bella Ceccarelli, Hayden Opatchen and Chris Nguyen went 1 and 1 in their games. Addi Davis and Eileen Chen had a few key rolls to keep the Viking in the 1st game. Hayden Opatchen came through with the game winning roll!
Our Blue team went 2 – 0 in their two games. Chris Shiel, Devin Botte, Jakob Knobloch, Parker Hoth, Payton Korker, and Kaden Pedaline. Big rolls coming from Chris Shiel, Parker Hoth, Devin Botte and Payton Korker to win frames and ultimately the both matches.
The Hilz Review of Bocce Season Opener!
The unified bocce season opened with excitement and strong sportsmanship as the Hopewell Vikings faced off against the Beaver Bobcats in their first match of the year. Both teams arrived ready to compete, displaying a positive energy that set the tone for the afternoon. Families and supporters took their spot in the stands creating an encouraging atmosphere for all athletes.
From the first roll, it was clear that both Hopewell and Beaver are working hard during practice. Players showed impressive focus and teamwork, communicating with one another and celebrating each successful play. The match included several close frames, with both sides delivering accurate shots and thoughtful strategy. Coaches praised the athletes for staying composed and working together throughout each round.
What stood out most was the spirit of unity and inclusion on both teams. Athletes from Hopewell and Beaver supported one another, demonstrating what unified sports are truly about—bringing students of all abilities together in an environment of respect and teamwork. Every participant contributed to the match’s competitive but friendly atmosphere.
In the end, the score took a back seat to the experience. Both the Vikings and the Bobcats walked away proud of their performance and excited for the season ahead. With such a strong start, this first match set the foundation for a memorable unified bocce season filled with growth, teamwork, and shared success.
