Hopewell 10u Navy Battles Hard in Season Opener
The Hopewell 10u Navy softball team opened their Fall 2025 season Tuesday night with an exciting matchup against NB 10u Black. While the final score ended 4-2 in favor of NB, Hopewell showed plenty of promise both at the plate and in the field, setting the tone for a competitive season ahead.
Offensively, Hopewell tallied four hits, with Kendal K, Teagan J, Ann K, and Nora C each collecting a hit. Kendal and Teagan drove in the team’s two runs, delivering key hits in clutch moments. Nora C also reached base twice, showing patience at the plate and hustling down the line.
The team’s discipline was on display, with multiple players drawing walks and working deep counts. Nora C, Ann K, and Teagan J each reached base via hit-by-pitch, helping to create scoring opportunities.
In the circle, Gracey D started strong, striking out eight batters over three innings while allowing just one run through the first three frames. Kendal K came in for relief, striking out five over two innings, giving the team a chance to stay within striking distance.
Defensively, Hopewell was sharp, committing no errors in the field and making several key plays to limit NB’s scoring chances.
Although this first game didn’t end in a win, the effort, energy, and talent were evident. With strong pitching, disciplined hitting, and a clean defensive performance, Hopewell 10u Navy has laid the groundwork for an exciting season.
