HOPWELL TOWNSHIP– At this level of basketball where players are learning offensive plays and more importantly, developing their own individual games, there are going to be a lot of missed shot.

The players are young and developing so that’s to be expected.

The thing that can make up for and assist the missed shots is your team’s ability to rebound the basketball, especially offensively.

Rebounding on both ends of the court is something that the Hopewell Lady Vikings did well this afternoon and it led them to a 34-12 win over Beaver. The Lady Vikings weren’t afraid to crash the boards and because of that, it led to plenty of second chances points which was key.

Taking a look at the box score: Elianna McCoy led Hopewell with 12 points and a TON of rebounds. Amiyah Shell collected 8 points, Leah Buettner had 4 points, Dallas Boyd had 4 points, Afton Budris with 2 points, Anonna Shell with 2 points and plenty of good passes and defense and Brooke Otto with 2 points.

Here’s a recap of this afternoon’s Hopewell victory:

*Hopewell misses on a 3-pointer and McCoy grabs offensive rebound and puts it in a for a layup. Hopewell 12-7.

*Nice Hopewell transition offense as Anonna Shell finds McCoy, who misses but Buettner grabs offensive rebound and puts it back in. Hopewell 18-7.
