Long-Time, Popular Hopewell High School Pitching Coach Brad Fox Retires

Strong pitching has been a staple over the years from the Hopewell High School baseball program.

And that pitching has been a huge ingredient to the sustained success of the Vikings program, evidenced by their 2023 WPIAL championship.

However, Coach Morgan Singletary and his program are now in search of a new pitching coach following the loss of their long-time coach Brad Fox.

Friday night, the Hopewell baseball program released the news on social media that Fox has made the decision to retire from high school coaching.

Here is a statement released from Coach Singletary on the retirement of Coach Fox.

“As Coach Fox starts a new chapter in his life, I want to take a moment to express our programs deepest gratitude for the incredible impact he has had on our team. His dedication, passion, and support has made a world of difference both on and off the field. 

Coach Fox has passed on the knowledge of the game he has accrued, over the years of experience, to countless players and coaches. Myself being one of them. The hours spent at practice and games in the fall, spring, and summer, building relationships with players cannot be measured. His impact can be seen by the number of former players he is still in touch with to this day. As a coach those are the relationships you strive to build and to foster. Coach Fox makes it look effortless.

Personally, Coach Fox has helped me progress as a coach, find my coaching style, and develop my team values. I will forever be grateful for the time I have had coaching with him. I will speak for the program when I say that he will be missed. At the same time, I am happy that he will be able to spend his extra time finding new passions and hobbies.”

The highlight of Coach Fox’s career had to be watching his son Landon, anchor the Vikings pitching staff and leading them to a WPIAL championship.

Coach Fox’s absence will be missed but on a positive note, the new Hopewell pitching coach will be inheriting plenty of strong arms led by David Medich, Kingston Krotec, Ben McDonald, James Armstrong, etc.
