Team Cumpston U8 Soccer Team Concludes Tremendous Season

This morning the Hopewell Youth Soccer teams wrapped up their season and what a season it was for Head Coach Aaron Cumpston and his U8 team.

Team Cumpston ended the season with an exciting 3-2 win as Finley Cumpston scored the game-winning goal late in the second half to lead her team to the win. Despite having very little room, Cumpston was able to sneak a shot in short side past the goalie for the big goal.

For the game, Finley scored 2 goals while Noah Rearick scored the second goal of the game with a powerful kick from the right side.

It was a tremendous season for this group of kids in terms of success on the field but more importantly, the knowledge of the game they gained as well as individual development.

This is something that’s said often and in this case it’s 100% true. Every single player on this season showed noticeable improvement from the first game till today’s season finale.

Since a 7-3 loss back on April 6th in their first game of the season, Team Cumpston finished the season without losing another game, going 5-0-2.

A big thanks to Head Coach Aaron Cumpston for the job he did with these 10 players. It’s not easy considering their ages, but Coach was able to really teach these kids soccer fundamentals and at the same time, made it fun for them.
