Hopewell 10U Softball With Big Win Over Ambridge

Congratulations to the Hopewell 10U softball team for an impressive 13-7 win over Ambridge.

The Vikings showed resiliency as they fell behind early but were able to overcome the deficit thanks to an 18 hit outburst by the offense.

Leading the hit parade for Hopewell was Gia Yurcina, Sofia Cronin and Paisley Cunningham, who each banged out 3 hits apiece. Ruby Fillo, Gianna Ceccarelli and Mackenzie King all had two hits.

Hopewell’s 13 RBIs were collected by Cronin with 5, Fillo with 3, Ceccarelli with 2, and King, Cunningham and Yurcina had one apiece.

Here’s a couple impressive stats- in Hopewell’s 28 at-bats, they only struck out 4 times so they were putting the bat on the ball. Also, Hopewell played great defense and didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Hopewell trailed 4-3 in the second inning but had a 5-run explosion, two of which came on a 2-run single by Cronin.

With the win, Hopewell 10U improved their overall record to 3-3-1.
