HW Softball Wins Key Game Joining Top Four in Section!
Hopewell celebrated its Seniors tonight just before the opening of a key section matchup against Quaker Valley. Currently the standings had Hopewell neck and neck with the bottom three teams in their section and this win puts them one game up from Quaker Valley as there are only a couple of games left in the season. This decisive win, 14-2, might be the spark Hopewell needs to make a run at the playoffs, especially for the seniors who know that the end of the year and their final season on the HW fields is coming quickly.
🥎Mya Parish recently announced as the winning applicant of the HSN female scholarship for athletics, took the mound tonight and pitched a solid game for the Vikings. After a long season struggling with an injury she seems to be regaining her command of the strike zone in this outing vs Quaker Valley. Mya surrendered just two hits and two runs (zero earned) and struck out six Quakers. 🥎
It was a good night for the HW Seniors as another, Chloe Nale drove in six runs on two hits, one being a grand slam in the second  inning 🔥.
Hopewell extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Isabella Katkich and Nale.
Hopewell Varsity Vikings scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Nale drew a walk, scoring one run, Ava Compton grounded out, scoring one run, and Mya Parish singled, scoring three runs.
