Drill 4 Skill/Team Biega Brings Home the Gold!
It was a long, busy weekend for Drill 4 Skill/Team Biega as they took part in the 17th Annual Adidas/Battle at the Burgh AAU basketball tournament.
This group, which again is participating in the highest competitive group (Iron Division) offered in this tournament, steamrolled through the early opponents on Friday night and Saturday evening.
Because of this, D4S earned a top seed for the playoffs on Sunday. They ran into a very talented group out of a New York Prep School called Ease Elite in the semifinals and stifling defense led the way to a 55-24 victory.
After that impressive win against a team with that pedigree, they faced off against the host organization BSA top team. However, they were no much for this talented Drill 4 Skill team, as they ran away with a 61-27 win in the championship game, to win the gold medal.
After the championship win, HSN caught up with head coach Doug Biega.
“Every player on the roster contributed at some point during the weekend,” said Biega. Playing the toughest competition available every tournament, and competing whether winning or not, should serve these guys well come December.”
Congrats to the Hopewell players on this roster: Tre Cameron, Avery Bokor, Brody Rock, Jack Biega and James Armstrong.
No time off for this team as this weekend, they’ll compete in Legendz Classic at the All American Fieldhouse in Monroeville.
