HW Junior High Softball blanks Northgate!!!
A decisive win for the HW Softball Junior High as HSN was there to watch as HW shut out Northgate 21-0.
Hopewell opens the game strong and scored 13 runs in the first inning. Lillian Otto tripled, scoring one run, Izzy Mutkus singled, scoring one run, Evie Decampi drew a walk, scoring one run, Ella Hartle drew a walk, scoring one run, Lily Enders drew a walk, scoring one run, Madeline Earley singled, scoring two runs, Gianna Rossi tripled, scoring two runs, Abby Babinsack singled, scoring two runs, and Decampi singled, scoring two runs.
The offense continued in the second with Hopewell scoring eight runs on two hits. Ana D was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Maddison Pontis drew a walk, scoring one run, Bella Cipolla drew a walk, scoring one run, Cadence Zito grounded out, scoring one run, Addison Pavlisko drew a walk, scoring one run, Darla Stiteler singled, scoring two runs, and D drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hartle earned the win for Hopewell. They surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking none. #12 stepped in the circle first for Northgate. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and 21 runs over two innings, striking out one and walking 15.
Pavlisko pitched one inning of scoreless ball for the Junior High in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
HW’s bats were hot striking 10 hits in the game. Mutkus and Stiteler each collected two hits for Hopewell Jr High Softball 2024. Decampi went 1-for-1 at the plate as the right fielder led the team with three runs batted in. Hopewell Jr High Softball 2024 had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 15 walks for the game. Ava Holiday, Hartle, and Cipolla led the team with two free passes each. Hopewell Jr High Softball 2024 were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Otto made the most plays with six.
