Connor Progar Breaks Hopewell High School Track and Field Record
More great accomplishments with the 2024 Hopewell Vikings Track and Field team.
Today at their meet against Freedom, a member of the team broke a school record!
Hopewell junior Connor Progar broke the Hopewell school record for the boys’ pole vault. Progar cleared 13’7″ on his first attempt to break Jack Georgetson’s record from 2017.
“The school record has been a goal of mine since I started vaulting, and I’m surprised to have gotten it already,” Progar tells Hopewell Sports Nation. “It feels like a literal jumping off point for bigger goals coming up.”
“Connor is such a dedicated and coachable athlete,” said Hopewell Track and Field Coach Jeff Brunton. “He and Coach Brian Wolfe have tremendous relationship and trust each other thoroughly, which is such an important thing for such a technical event as pole vault. They are taking Hopewell vaulting to incredible heights.”
As a team, both the Boys and Girls Teams beat Freedom and Rochester.
Hopewell Sports Nation will have a full meet recap.
Once again, congratulations Connor on your incredible accomplishment!
Go Vikings!
