Hopewell Jr High Softball 2024 fell 11-10 to Central Valley on Wednesday despite outhitting them 11 to four. Gianna Rossi led Hopewell Jr High Softball 2024 with three hits.
Rossi collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Rossi doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the first inning,
Central Valley were the first to get on the board in the first when a passed ball scored one run.
Central Valley added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after #3 singled, and Central Valley scored on a passed ball, each scoring two runs.
Central Valley scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. #8 drew a walk, scoring one run, #2 drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, #44 drew a walk, scoring one run, and #5 doubled, scoring two runs.

Abby Babinsack pitched three innings in relief for Hopewell. The righty allowed three hits and two runs while striking out four and walking five. Ella Hartle stepped in the circle first for Hopewell and allowed one hit and nine runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking seven.

CV eight hitter, #3, showed the depth of Central Valley’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Central Valley had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. #4 and #2 led the team with three walks each. Central Valley didn’t commit a single error in the field. #5 had the most chances in the field with five.
