Hopewell HS Bowling Team With Great Performance In Match Against Nazareth Prep
The Hopewell Boys participated in an exhibition match against Nazareth Prep on Wednesday at Paradise Island Bowl. This match showcased a unique scenario where the Hopewell Boys Junior Varsity bowlers stepped into the varsity lineup and triumphed over the Nazareth Prep varsity team with a commanding 7-0 victory.
Two freshmen, Ayden Gault and Aiden Klette, made their varsity match debuts by delivering their best series of the year, marking a significant achievement in their young careers. Ayden Gault posted an impressive 448 series, while Aiden Klette recorded a notable 391. Freshman Will Holland and junior Zach Hughes completed the team, contributing to the victory with their solid performances, anchored by rotating varsity bowlers.
In the absence of opposing competition, the women’s team secured a 7-0 victory, showcasing outstanding contributions. Junior captain Jenna Willy led the way with a 324 series, closely followed by freshman Krysten Clary, who achieved both her career-high game of 128 and a career-high series of 315. Junior Bayley Carmichael also made a significant impact, recording a career-high series with nearly 50 pins above her average for the series.
As the regular season concludes, the Vikings look ahead to their final match at Kennedy Lanes next Wednesday against West Allegheny. Three bowlers face a crucial week with much to prove. Junior men’s anchor Daniel Earley and freshman women’s leadoff Annabeth Sembower enter the week with averages high enough to qualify for year-end singles tournaments but need to maintain their performance through the final match. Freshman Aidan Heppner aims to bowl slightly above his standard to secure his entry into the next stage of competition.
