Hopewell 4th Grade Travel Team Champions of the South Side Tournament

Winning is certainly fun and the Hopewell 4th grade travel basketball team did plenty of winning this weekend as they came away as champions of the South Side Tournament.

The Vikings played two games on Saturday, beating Blackhawk (29-19) and South Side (48-1). Elimination play started this morning and Hopewell kept on winning as they beat Avonworth, 36-6, in the semifinals and then Blackhawk (19-8) in the Championship Game.

Congratulations to the members of this 4th grade team and to the three coaches, Dave Gigliotti, Darren Newberry and Brandon Ambrose.

This group of boys will be back in action this Tuesday as they take on Aliquippa at 6 PM. Their next tournament will be at West Allegheny, during the weekend of February 3rd.
