Coach Jeremy Boehms Twerp football team has started the season at 2-1. These boys practice four days a week and play on Saturdays.

This past Saturday the Twerps took on the New Brighton Lions winning the game 20-8.

New Brighton came out with a strong passing game making some big plays. Finally scoring a rushing touchdown. This would be just about all of the offense HW would allow for the game as their defense came up with big play after play.

Penalties stalled the first HW drive.

Kaycion Hodges was a name the announcer became all to familiar with as he seemed to be all over the field for the Hopewell defense making big drive stopping plays on all of the NB possessions.

The score at the half was New Brighton 8 Hopewell 0.

On the next HW possession Lincoln bokor calls his number and scrambles for a HW touchdown setup by a nice block opening a gap that Lincoln scrambled through going 65 yards.

On the next New Brighton drive Kaceyon Hodges took down the runner and #17 Jeremiah Brunson recovered the ball as NB fumbles.

On Hopewell’s next drive they went in for a touchdown by Kaycion Hodges.

NB had a drive going on their next possession but a bad block for a penalty backs them up to an unmanageable distance to end the third with a score of NB 8- Hopewell 13.

HW wasn’t done yet on their next possession Lincoln Bokor’s pass was complete, a good run by Jeremiah Brunton capped off by being pulled down by face mask for a first down.  After a few more plays #57 Lincoln Bokor runs the ball tackled by Soreen Hall to make it 4th and 11. Next a big run by #27 Kaycion for a first down bringing the ball out to the 50. Lincoln bokor calls his number and scrambles for a touchdown.

Both Lincoln Bokor and Kaycion Hodges had huge games showing off their skills and what all of the hard work at practice is good for.

New Brighton’s final drive on a pass play that HW had seen on each of their drives turned up to be a mistake that HE would take advantage of as the pass was picked off by Lincoln Bokor which would end the NB chances of a comeback.

Final Score HW 20 – New Brighton 8

Hello Hopewell! While I am not originally a Hopewell native, it has been my home for over 12 years. My wife and I have three beautiful children that all play Hopewell sports including baseball and softball. My wife and I are both active in coaching our Children's teams. I am a member of the Hopewell Youth Baseball Board of Directors and you will probably see me out at the fields at least a few days a week. Most recently coaching my youngest sons TBALL team.
