Winning is fun and the Hopewell High School Basketball has done a lot of it this season.

One night after a blowout win over New Brighton, the Vikings had to go on the road to take on Freedom. While it wasn’t as easy, the result remained the same as Hopewell came away with a 48-45 win. Head coach Mark D’Alessandris squad is now 4-0 to start the 2023-24 season.

Hopewell only led by 1 point late in the game but two late free throws by Nick Adams gave them some cushion.

Here’s a look at the Hopewell box score from last night’s win.

*Junior guard Zach Kovell led the Vikings with 26 points. The night before against New Brighton, Kovell scored a game-high 27 points.
*Junior Thomas Pipkins III scored 7 points and 5 rebounds.
*Junior Zach Gigliotti scored 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
*Sophomore Nick Adams contributed 5 points and 2 rebounds.
*Senior Zazhamere Jeter scored 4 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
