🏐πŸ”₯ Lady Vikings Road Warrior Week: Montour Battle Leads to Avonworth Thriller | By Ariana Fischer

The Hopewell Lady Vikings Junior High Volleyball teams had a busy and exciting week on the road, traveling to face Montour on March 10 and Avonworth on March 12. Both matches tested the Vikings’ determination, teamwork, and Viking spirit. From hard-fought rallies to dramatic finishes, the girls showed just how much heart they bring to the court.

🏐 Montour Recap – Away Game (3/10/2026)

On Tuesday, March 10, the Lady Vikings traveled to Montour for what turned out to be some tough competition. It was a challenging match for both teams, but the Lady Vikings kept their Viking spirit strong the entire time, cheering each other on and battling for every point.

7th Grade Match

The 7th graders took the court first and started the night off strong. They fought hard and came away with a 25–21 win in the first set. Montour answered back in the second set, taking it 25–20, which meant everything came down to the third and final set.

The excitement in the gym grew as both teams battled it out, but the 7th grade Lady Vikings stayed focused and determined, finishing the match with a 15–9 victory in the final set.

Final Result: Hopewell wins the match!

Great job to the 7th grade Lady Vikings, who showed teamwork and determination from start to finish.

The girls put their effort into every part of the game β€” serves, blocks, sets, and passes. Each player has an important role, and it shows as the team continues learning new skills and improving every week. Watching the 7th graders develop their abilities now will help them grow even stronger for the rest of this season and the years ahead.

8th Grade Match

After the 7th grade victory, the 8th grade Lady Vikings stepped onto the court ready to face the Montour team.

Both sets were competitive battles, but Hopewell came up just short in each one. The Vikings lost 25–21 in the first set and 25–21 in the second, showing how close the competition really was.

Even though the match didn’t go their way, the 8th graders played a strong and powerful game, fighting for every point. The girls continue to learn and adapt with each match, listening to their coaches and improving their teamwork.

Every player’s role β€” whether serving, passing, setting, or hitting β€” helps make the team complete, and their dedication continues to show each time they step on the court.

But the week wasn’t over yet. Just two days later, the Lady Vikings would face another tough opponent in Avonworth.

⚑ Avonworth Game Day – March 12, 2026

Avonworth’s gym was buzzing with excitement Thursday as the Hopewell Lady Vikings arrived to square off against one of their toughest rivals. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams showed up ready to play.

A big thank you to the parents, grandparents, friends, and fans who traveled to support the Lady Vikings at their away games this week. Hopewell did not disappoint as they fought hard on the court.

7th Grade Recap

The 7th graders once again took the court with determination, using the techniques they’ve been practicing all season. Their passing, setting, and teamwork continue to grow stronger every game.

It was a tough match against Avonworth with great passes from Addie, Eva, Jayden, Kyla, Kendall B., Kendall M., and Rilynn.

Avonworth captured the first set 25–22, but the Lady Vikings came right back to win the second set 25–21. The deciding third set was another battle, but Avonworth managed to take the match 15–7.

Even though they fell just short, the close scores showed how much the team has improved while competing against one of the toughest teams in their grade.

πŸ”₯ 8th Grade Showdown

Next up, the 8th grade Lady Vikings faced the Avonworth Lady Antelopes, and the match was packed with exciting moments. The gym erupted with blocks, digs, sets, aces, and powerful hits from both teams.

Hopewell came out strong and won the first set 25–20. Avonworth responded by taking the second set 25–21, setting up a dramatic third set showdown.

Hopewell jumped out to an early lead after Brooke Otto served an ace, helping the Vikings take a 3–0 advantage. Avonworth scored a point before Ariana Fischer delivered two aces, pushing the score to 6–1.

Avonworth battled back with four straight points, but Hopewell answered with four of their own to make it 10–6 Vikings.

The teams continued trading points until the score reached 15–15, then 16–16, pushing the set beyond the usual 15-point finish since a team must win by two.

With the pressure on, Sam Holsinger stepped up to serve. Her serve crossed the net and Avonworth hit it out of bounds, giving Hopewell the 17–16 lead. Sam served again, and once more the Antelopes’ return went out.

Final Score: Hopewell 18 – Avonworth 16!

The Lady Vikings celebrated an exciting victory against one of their toughest rivals.
