HSN’s Preview of Hopewell vs. Quaker Valley, Game Prediction
Week Six of the 2024 High School Football season will take place tonight for the Hopewell Vikings.
Hopewell will host Quaker Valley tonight at Tony Dorsett Stadium and will be looking to even their record at 3-3.
After taking on two of the better teams in Class 3A with Beaver and Avonworth, the schedule will be a bit more manageable the next few weeks as Hopewell will take on Quaker Valley, McGuffey and Freeport.
The Quakers enter tonight’s game with a record of 1-3 and coming off a 34-14 win against Valley. Like with Hopewell, Quaker Valley only won one game last season and that happened to come against Hopewell, 38-30.
Taking a look at tonight’s matchup, I think things look favorable for Coach Mottes and the Vikings.
I’m anticipating Hopewell playing their best overall game of the season, both offensively and defensively.
When looking at the offense, I believe Hopewell will have a chance to have their best-balanced effort of 2024, with both running and passing the ball. Last week, freshman quarterback James Armstrong threw for a career-high 187 yards and 3 touchdowns, it would not surprise me if he surpasses both of those totals this evening.
The passing game was productive in the second half last week and that will continue this evening. Junior Logan Triscilla has been Armstrong’s top target, with 4 touchdown receptions. This could be the night where young targets such as Tre Cameron or Avery Bokor start have an impact in the passing game.
If this passing game starts to click, that will no doubt open the opportunity for the Vikings running attack as well. Could Brody Rock have his first 100-yard rushing game of his varsity career? It’s a possibility.
This offense has a ton of potential and tonight is a night that I think it will be on display.
Something that I’m looking for the most is to see if tonight is the night that the Hopewell defense makes life on the opposing quarterback.
To this point, Hopewell has only been able to register two sacks. That is a number that the coaching staff is increase in the second half of the season.
PREDICTION: So far in 2024, I’ve been 5 for 5 with my predictions and hopefully that continues tonight.
It will be a festive night because of Homecoming and the performance of the football team will make the evening even more enjoyable.
Hopewell will play their most complete game of the season pick up their first conference win of the season.
