Tomorrow Begins Huge Stretch of Games for Hopewell HS Boys Soccer Team
The 2023 Hopewell High School boys’ soccer team had a memorable season by collecting the school’s first playoff win in 12 years.
This year’s squad would like to do the same thing and possibly go further but first things first.
The Vikings first need to qualify for the WPIAL playoffs.
On Thursday, Coach Nathan Richter’s team defeated Mohawk, 7-0, to pick up their 3rd win of the season and hope that’s the first of many wins as they approach a crucial portion of their schedule.
Hopewell is back in action tomorrow morning when they take on Keystone Oaks over at Tony Dorsett Stadium and a win would be very big. Right now, it appears as though it’s going to be a battle between Hopewell and Beaver for the 4th playoff spot in their section. Central Valley, Avonworth and Quaker Valley have the first three spots locked up.
Unfortunately, Hopewell lost their first matchup against Beaver, so they’re playing a bit of catchup. However, there’s plenty of schedule left for the Vikings to make up the ground.
The chance to do that starts tomorrow against Keystone Oaks (11:30 AM).
