WATCH: 1-on-1 Interview with Hopewell Freshman Quarterback James Armstrong
HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP– This 2024 season is going to be a learning experience for this Hopewell football team, especially for their starting quarterback freshman James Armstrong.
Armstrong went into camp battling junior 2-year starter Kingston Krotec. Unfortunately, a week before the start of the season, Krotec suffered a broken ankle, which will sideline him for the season.
That meant despite being just 14-years old, Armstrong became the starting quarterback for a high school football team.
Despite his success in junior high, high school competition is entirely different as Armstrong is finding out.
However, Armstrong is making noticeable progress every week including last nights performance against Ambridge, throwing for 176 yards, gaining 61 yards on the ground and throwing for 1 TD and running for 2.
