Just One of Those Days, Hopewell Loses to Kiski, 12-3
This applies to any level of sports, whether we’re talking the NY Yankees, LA Lakers, or Alabama Crimson Tide; sometimes you just don’t have it.
It doesn’t mean you’re not a good team or that the rest of the season won’t go well but it just wasn’t your day.
That was the case today with the Hopewell High School baseball team.
The Vikings had some momentum, winning 3 games in a row including a 7-0 win yesterday against Keystone Oaks.
However, today against Kiski nothing went right for them as they dropped a 12-3 decision to Kiski.
Hopewell was outhit 11-4, committed 5 errors, allowed 2 passed balls, ran into two double plays and only had 1 hit going into the 6th inning.
The game was tied at 1 going into the 3rd inning but Kiski scored 1 run in the 3rd, 5 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th to ice the game.
The four hits today by Hopewell were collected by Zack Gigliotti, Drew Donovan, John Vescio and James Gill.
Emmet McCowin and Ben McDonald had the RBIs for Hopewell.
The Vikings are off until Tuesday when they travel to take on Beaver.
