Hopewell Football Finds Out Section Opponents For the 2024 Season

It’s a new era of Hopewell High School football as John Rosa will begin his first season as Vikings head coach.

Rosa and his coaching staff are currently introducing the new culture that they intend to have surrounding the program in the hopes of bringing winning football back to Tony Dorsett Stadium.

Today, Hopewell along with the rest of the schools in the WPIAL found out the schools that will be in their conferences for the 2024 high school football season and there are some changes. The biggest of which will be Central Valley, which is moving down a classification. That means the ‘Battle of Broadhead’ will return.

Here are the teams that will be in Class 3A, Section 1:

Hopewell
Avonworth
Beaver
Central Valley
McGuffey
North Catholic
Quaker Valley

Hopewell Sports Nation reached out to new Hopewell head coach John Rosa to get his reaction to the conference opponents that Hopewell will face.

“It’s geographically sound,” said Rosa. “Yes, McGuffey and North Catholic are longer road trips but overall, the WPIAL got it right. Yes, North Catholic could have been in the AK Valley Section but I’m ok with this alignment.”

“There are quality programs in this conference. You will need to be prepared every week.”

Speaking of prepared, the Hopewell football players are preparing for the upcoming season as they’re taking part in their weightlifting program.
