BEAVER- Hopewell Head Coach Jamie Yurcina has been waiting for this performance all season from his offense.

Since game one, the pitching has been great but the bats have been inconsistent. Tonight, they were red-hot as they pounded out a season-high 14 hits and runs enroute to a 19-2 win over Beaver.

The great thing about tonight was that Hopewell got hitting from all parts of the lineup.

Offensive Standouts:

-Jayvion Lindsey continued to hit the ball well as he went 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI.

-Collin Davis: 1-2 (double), 3 runs, 2 walks

-James Armstrong: 3-4 (3 doubles), 3 runs, 3 RBI

-Luke Vukovcan: 1-2, 2 runs, RBI, 2 walks

-Jackson Yurcina: 2-3, 2 runs, 4 RBI, walk

-Jaxson Covalt: 2-4, 1 run, 2 RBI

-David Villanueva: 2-4, 2 RBI

-Noah Ciminella: 1-2, 1 run, RBI, walk

When you’re able to hit like they did, it obviously makes things a lot easier and stress free for the pitchers.

Coach Yurcina had the luxury of starting Armstrong, who once again turned in an above average performance. Boo went 4 innings, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs (0 earned) and struck out 9 of the 12 batters he faced.

Jackson Yurcina came on to pitch a scoreless 5th and 6th innings. In the final frame, Lindsey made his season debut and pitched a scoreless 7th inning.

In the top of the 6th, Armstrong hit a double down the left-field line. Following a walk to Cam Hoth, Vukovcan hit a single back up the middle to score Armstrong . Hopewell led 8-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, Yurcina received some help from his defense. Beaver loaded the bases with 1 out, but Hopewell turned a 4-6-3 double play as 2nd baseman Covalt fielded a grounder, flipped it to Davis, who fired it to Hoth at first.

In the tip of the 7th, Hopewell scored 11 times. Villanueva led off with a single to right and would score on an RBI single by Ciminella.

Next up, Lindsey hit a hard single to left that cleared the bases as the ball slipped by the Beaver left fielder. Lindsey raced around to third and Hopewell led 12-2.

The lead increased to 14-2 on another double by Armstrong. For the season, Boo is now hitting .688.

Then with 2 outs, Yurcina brought in Armstrong and Vukovcan, with a single to center. The score went to 17-2 on an RBI single by Covalt scoring Owen Ackerman. The final two runs came home as Villanueva batted again and smacked a hard double to left-center.
